The Appalachian Pretrial and Probation Program is a county probation program operating in Pickens, Fannin, and Gilmer counties. This program is a certified law enforcement program since June 2002 by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council. Offices are located in each of the three counties. This program supervises misdemeanor criminal cases in Superior Court, Magistrate Court, Probate Court and Municipal Courts upon request. This program also operates a pretrial diversion program for the circuit and assists in supervising criminal defendants who are released from jail with special conditions of a bond.
