On March 26, 2025, high school participants from Youth Leadership Pickens were introduced to the duties and responsibilities of various court systems.
The participants started the session with a tour of the Pickens Courthouse. They then witnessed an in-person plea of guilty and a plea in which the participant appeared by WebEx, followed by a demonstration of the audio visual presentation in the courtroom.
They heard from Superior Court Chief Judge Brenda S. Weaver; Superior Court Judge Mary Beth Priest; Superior Court Judge B. Alison Sosebee; Juvenile Court Chief Judge Keith Galligan; Juvenile Court Judge Patricia A. King; District Attorney Frank Wood; Chief Magistrate Judge Alan Morris; Probate Judge David Lindsey; Public Defender Clint Hooker; Criminal Defense Attorney George Weaver, Jr; Clerk of Superior Court Jennifer Jordan; Pickens County Sheriff’s Office Major Mitch Yeargin and State Probation Officer April Densmore.
